Another thing..... doesn't this seems like a big waste of space? I see that the height limit on the Dallas side is lower than on the UP side. I guess that is due to 75? Either way it is odd that they are going to include that must green space when SMU is out of land.
It's due to deed restrictions and zoning on that Bairds parcel. We discussed this in a real estate class.
It also has to do with height restrictions that were agreed upon during negotiations for the new Bush Presidential Center so they could have a relatively decent view of downtown Dallas. That's represented by the line cutting through the conceptual site plan on Page 8 of the first document.
Right. Height restrictions in the zoning

Sorry - I've no context for who "he" is - I know only that this is the only account I've had on this board. Clearly there is some relevant connection to those with greater history on this board, so some explanation, however brief, would be appreciated. I still don't know whether I should be flattered or prepare for a barrage of inexplicably dismissive responses to future posts.

'94 will give you an extremely short explanation that will leave more questions than answers
being dismissed here happens often to just about everyone, although some are too stubborn to admit it.
just roll w/ it.

Guess I missed it.
Serious couple of questions:
1) How are the students going to safely get across Mockingbird to campus?
2) Is La Madaleine going to have to move?

Man, it sure looks from the mock up like at least 20 feet of the current La Madeleine spot will be taken.

Development of the final plan is ongoing. LaMadeleine, and particularly CVS, aren't going anywhere any time soon.

I'd say that La Madeleine would be higher on the list than CVS. That is the original location for the restaurant, where it all started.

CVS had signed a 20 year lease (or at least that's the gross term if renewal options are executed) which i believe they have 13 years left on.
don't know about la madeline's lease, but it's all up to the LL. they could buy out the lease like they've tried to do w/ CVS to no avail.

Do you know that because you considered relocating 1st and Ten there? That'd be pretty sweet.
