I will wear red. I have been impressed with seeing more fans, including students, in SMU logo wear. We may be closing in on making things like a red out work.

agree that the key is for a strong student turnout and for them to be wearing red; might need to hand out t-shirts? Too many SMU folks are just "too cool" to be bothered; we're novices at this fanatic fan stuff. Based on the majority of camera shots being from the west side box looking east, I expect TCU purple to dominate for TV. Sure hope we have a strong showing from the home side

The students have been a little better this year, I remember seeing

that clump of students wearing blue at the raider game.

If you are referring to the group that was behind the SMU bench all wearing blue, that was us, and I'm mad its a red out because most of us all have the ADIDAS blue gameday shirt or the Blue ADIDAS Jersey, which is the only color they have been selling before this year. A lot of my also buddies wear the dark blue or white under armor game day shirt as well, red has seemingly been the least popular color sold in the book store.

Well if I ever win the lottery I will personally have t-shirts AND towels made in all 3 colors--red, white and blue so that fans are ready for any opponent!!! While I hope to see more red than purple on the screen I think the most important thing is for SMU fans to be LOUD!!! For what it's worth, we will have a Red Out in my house!! :D
KICK 'EM MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!

"RED OUT" Set For Friday
Get Tickets For SMU-TCU At 214-SMU-GAME

Sept. 20, 2010

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU is calling for a "RED OUT" for Friday night's ESPN-televised SMU-TCU football game. Fans attending the game are asked to wear red to show support for the Mustangs.

SMU has won five straight home games and is 7-2 in the last nine games, the best mark for any nine-game stretch since a stretch from the 1984 and 1985 seasons. SMU is coming off a 35-21 win over Washington State, as the Mustangs posted their first win against a BCS-AQ team since Kansas (31-17) on Sept. 2, 2000, snapping a 17-game losing streak.

Ranked No. 4 in the AP poll, TCU is the highest-ranked team ever to visit Ford Stadium, the highest-ranked team SMU has hosted since No. 2 Texas in 1983 and the highest-ranked team the Mustangs have faced since No. 1 Notre Dame in 1989.

Kickoff for the DFW Duel Battle for the Iron Skillet Presented by StateFarm is set for 7 p.m. For tickets, call the SMU Ticket Office at 214-SMU-GAME.

Thats why I always like white, as EVERYone has a white shirt/blouse. Just don't wear that darn purple color......

The funny thing is - the way SMU usually does things, we will actually get a decent turnout of people dressed in red, but the team will come out in blue.

Hopefully the students will show up in red since that is all that will show up on TV. I highly doubt ESPN is going to have a blimp at this one...

Hopefully, the Ath dept. is behind this, thus guaranteeing the team will rock red. Two years ago, when I organized the red out for the Memphis bball game, I contacted Coach Doh and he had the team wear red.
