Patterson is good coach, but Jones has been succesful in NFL as coordinator and head coach and has contacts still around the league. It is no coincidence more NFL teams are coming by now to look at our guys and watch practice, or that we had 3 kids go to NFL last year after Jones is only here short time.

.......all those connections got him to SMU....well played June....well played!

Actually, got him 2M/year, with the chance to earn even more when he starts to really win.

So did everybody else - that's why Snyder is back.

Kinda like calling yourself a player 'cause you turned down a Gamma Phi.

Major difference between the coaches?

Is this a trick question? You mean other than the fact that one has built a top 5 program coming off a decade of success with a perennial top 10 defense and the other managed to beat a WAC also ran in a bowl game? Other than that, I guess not much.

Our coach is a joke. An absymal fail of epic proportions and his days are blissfully numbered. But I also don't go around comparing him to one of the five most respected coaches in college football either. Jones is a good coach and was a good hire. Patterson is considered elite and you guys show him zero respect with [deleted] threads like this.

Whether Patterson is one of the five most respected coaches in college football or not is open to discussion, by no means is it a certainty and ultimately it's an opinion.

When Patterson starts showing us some respect, then maybe we can see about toning down our rhetoric.

We get it, our team isn't as good as TCU as of late, but does he have to be such a tool about it?

We'll take our guy any day over patterson. He got to a BCS bowl first (and played a BCS team) and he did it with all the disadvantages of being in Hawaii with no budget and no facilities. Plus, he is demonstrating he can be great at multiple schools.
