Any oldtimers remember driving home from Ft. Worth after SMU beat TCU 21-0 in 1966-I think I'm remember right that the Mercantile Building spelled out SMU Mustangs in lighted windows or something like that in honor of SMU's SWC Championship. I was 8 years old so I could be making this up

you are not making this up...I remember that also, and my dad taking the '62 Impala around a much more negotiable downtown Dallas to look at it. That was when the "Turnpike" was a very much deserted road up until you got to Six Flags and Turnpike Stadium...after that, barren.
