, because that Manning guy was overrated....)"Ryan was the guy I was hoping would come to us," then-Chargers quarterback coach June Jones told the San Diego Union-Tribune right after the draft

As for this year, the backend of the defense's inability to get hands on balls is the biggest reason this team hasn't won more games. McCann, Bell and Moore were more instrumental to last year's success than some may realize or admitted coming into this year

Bingo!
I would have expected an improvement from one year to the next instead of mirrored stats, especially with out Bo.
expony18 wrote:im not saying that he doesnt hold the ball too long, i do question a couple of things regarding JJ's development of padron (not that i'm someone to question a coach who drafted ryan leaf, because that Manning guy was overrated....)"Ryan was the guy I was hoping would come to us," then-Chargers quarterback coach June Jones told the San Diego Union-Tribune right after the draft
Things we know:
1. June has given Padron a bigger play book this year
2. June has Padron run to the sideline every play to tell him what to look for (much like he has done with all of his previous QB's
If everyone is so concerned about Padron locking onto one receiver, shouldnt some of the blame be placed on June who is "telling him" who to look for (I assume he gives him 1, 2, 3)? My thought is that when June tells him this is who you need to throw to (every play) Padron locks on that guy until he is open (which was not happening the first 3-5 games). DOes June not tell Padron the progression in film study? During Practice? During walk through? Shouldnt Kyle know the progressions based on the defense before saturday?

I've known Peyton Manning for a long time and I really love the kid," said Charger's offensive coordinator June Jones, "But when I went and watched Ryan Leaf workout he was impressive. I came away excited about coaching Ryan Leaf. He is going to be a franchise guy."

Season lowlight: Before the season, the Falcons traded their unruly backup quarterback, Brett Favre, for a first-round pick. That pick, running back Tony Smith, attended Southern Miss like Favre, but the similarities stopped there. Smith's NFL tenure was a mere three years. Favre hasn't missed a start since you -- yes, you -- wore Hammer pants to school
Season lowlight -- Jeff George's infamous screaming match with head coach June Jones in Week 3. This was bad then because the Falcons were forced to start Bobby Hebert for the remainder of that season. The enduring tragedy is how much harder that's made life for Jason Whitlock, the last defender George has with whom he doesn't share the same last name.
