Can anyone deny our special teams this year has been abysmal? That is the bottom line. We have gone to one of the better performing special teams to among the worst.

I think a responsiblity change is in order...i am sure there are better things McKnight can add - he is well like by everyone - we just need someone who knows special teams backward and forward.

Maybe we could just watch all the Frank Gansz tapes for special teams practice.

From the way we have played this year it couldn't hurt.

Just got beat? That was a horrible defensive performance. To relieve the defense of any responsibility on that play would be to invite future failures. In order for there to be improvement, there must be accountability.

I don't know about this. Our own fake against TCU (and Tulane 2 years ago) involved the punter taking off to the far right and hugging the sideline (Morstead broke it back inside for a huge gain against TU two years ago, whereas Szymanski barely got past the first down line this year).

That being said, the reverse was a more unpredictable element. Disciplined defense still stops that.

For the record, that was not a fake. The ball bounced off one of the intermediate blockers and MS made a great play on it.

Well, the point about the fake at Tulane 2 years ago still stands. 8)
