The economic benefit of a nationally televised game on Christmas eve, with no competition, is hard to debate. However, if we were to go twice in a row, that would surely exclude us from this bowl in the next few years. Even though we would hope to move beyond this bowl level in the next year or two, might it be easier to sell a recruit on...hey, we skipped the Hawaii bowl this year so that we can return (with you) next year? Just a thought.
Bridgepoint Education Holiday: Missouri vs. Washington
Texas: Texas Tech vs. Illinois
New Era Pinstripe: Kansas State vs. Syracuse
TicketCity: Baylor vs. Northwestern
Hawaii: Hawaii vs. SMU
Armed Forces: Tulsa vs. Army
Sorry but SMU will NOT be in Hawaii again this year......Its either Liberty (YES!!) or the Armed Forces Bowl, if for some reason SMU doesn't happen to win Saturday. Too much pressure from all the other schools in CUSA.
SMU official indicated today at JJ luncheon that if we were in Armed Forces bowl, boulevard spots would likely be sold as parking spaces (premium)and would have to be divided so that any spots that went to participating teams would be split 50-50. Ponyscott is right on about bowl possibilities as they now stand. Here is something to think about now. Consolidation of tailgate parties, assuming current boulevard pass holder(s) can obtain Boulevard spot(s) for the AF Bowl, to create one or more very large tailgate affairs utilizing pooled resources. Ponyscott, Bus, Special Delivery, OTP, 78Pony, and/or others (that don't post here) may want to discuss this under the assumption we become AF Bowl bound. There may not be a lot of time to work on this after the invitations become official.

Exactly how much is "too much"? Give me a break.
Exactly TOO much for it to ever happen this year.... keep your shorts for the spring!!
I'd also like to know who in CUSA is exerting so much "pressure". Are Tulsa and/or UTEP lobbying so hard to go to Hawaii that SMU will have to stay home? I find that hard to believe.
Bowl in Hawaii was a nice draw but even better and I have heard this from more then one recruit is the sweet ring the team got. ........ " And they got rings " !! Don't underestimate the power of bling
