If SMU pulls off a road upset, and wins a conference championship on Saturday, those black uniforms will look pretty good. And we might have a new tradition. People might even want to see them in the next big game.
Since we are playing in UCF's stadium and they are the host team and we are the visitors, I believe we will be wearing white. Where is this idea of black unis coming from?
i heard bowl game.... not CUSA championship game

Shoulda been wearing black until we had a winning season, in my opinion.

Any time a team wears a special uniform, they usually get whipped. You want a 'business as usual' mindset. I've said this on other threads. Routine, routine, routine.

Let's win the championship first and then talk about this (and no---winning the championship will not make me like the big horses one bit more!!!).
KICK 'EM MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God I love that song....not only because its a great song, but also because you
coud tell it really bugged all the wussies. And yes SQUIRE there are nutcase
whackjobs on this site that would gladly rather moan and cry about what
color uniforms we wear or what size horse runs across the field than the
fact June Jones has us playing in our 2nd straight bowl game in 20 years!
But ya know what...... it dont matter what the hell they think! Ha!
Long Live June Jones! MERRY CHRISTMAS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rrqhPmzErc

Long Live June Jones! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Yeah, I miss the good old days too. Back when we wore Navy jerseys and Navy helmets, our coach wore socks, didn't wear stupid leis, we didn't have two Mustangs hanging around the corner of the endzone. Our coaches wore whistles in practice, and dog cussed the players as people were coming out of the United Methodist Church. The teams sure did suck, but at least we never broke out black jerseys for a bowl game! Oh well, one day that "[deleted]" June Jones will leave, and take all of his bs with him, and we can go back to the good old days, of getting our asses kicked every week.

I really feel sorry for you two. Blindly following any leader in any endeavour without questioning motives and purposes can only lead to downfall. The end never justifies the means. You two just don't get it. Why can't we have both...winning and tradition.

Most of the posters on here were not even born when Meredith or Hixson , much less Kyle Rote played for SMU. If they were they wouldn't cast aside tradition as easily as they do now nor would they maintain that SMU was "getting our asses kicked every week". That didn't come about until the DP. We may not have won every game in "the good old days" but we were fully capable of it! And the other teams knew it! We had the respect of the nation as evidenced by our players appearing on the covers of national magazines.
