hmmm. those sound more like Harvard & Yale's colors.
Read my signature. There is a reason. And yes I know you were being funny.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
I'm fine with them selling black jerseys, as I'm sure there are people out there that will like them just like all the pastel garbage that gets bought. I just don't like how they ONLY sell black jerseys.

Why don't you guys ask June in person on Jan 10th at the MC lunch what his thoughts are?
Because it's been proven that he will simply lie about it, as he did in NY about black jerseys
So the question should be asked in a way which forces him into an answer that will haunt him if he chooses to lie about it. Would serve him right for pulling that kind of carp.
Just got back from the Winter Classic in Pittsburgh last weekend. As much as I hate the Penguins, their jerseys for the Classic were nice. Capitals retro jerseys were good, but not unique. BTW, unless you're from Philly, the fans there were by and large very nice and it was a spirited fun game. I would not mind seeing the Mustangs add the Panthers to their schedule some day (whenever Pitt gets a coach).

99% of the customers can't relate to the #11 (they're doing now) & they're doing it for the anniversary but it's simply not goo marketing -
We got one of the black #11 jerseys for my six year old son for Christmas. What does the #11 signify? My son wondered who #11 was. I said I wasn't sure but it was probably some star from the past. We then watched the bowl game and it was Cole Beasley and he got excited the few times he saw him. #1 would make the most sense to me. Followed by #19 and #37.
Stop b*tching about black not being y'all school colors. It's JJ idea, He love's black. Heck he did it @ Hawai'i. Sooo expect to see a lot of it in the near future

Yeah, we've noticed. It's also our school. It was here before him, it will be here after him. Hence, the utter insanity of some people wanting to maintain some semblence of tradition. The horror.

There was also a specific reason why June felt he needed to butch-up the Rainbow Warriors' uniforms. That's not an issue at SMU where we formerly had about the coolest unis in college football.
Also, there's a reason TriState was conned into buying a black jersey. If he didn't know enough to get the #11 reference, he doesn't know enough about SMU tradition to appreciate what it means to lose that tradition.
