i enjoy all their losses. even when their women folk play.
I could not agree more. UT is in a class by itself.

1964-68, when I was there and those results were true before and after until the early 70's. Never lost a dual meet to the Longhorns in that time and had 17 consecutive SWC Swimming & Diving Championships in that era.

I might add that SMU recently honored Coach A. R. "Red" Barr as one of six of the latest Hall of Fame inductees. Former and current swimmers and coaches filled 11 tables at the event. Quite a legacy for the team, but Coach Barr launched the SMU program and was recognized as a wonderful man and coach.
I got interested in SMU Swimming with Lundquist, where we competed with UT year in and year out but did not dominate. Did not realize we had such a history before that!

Jerry Heinriech (sorry about the spelling) would have been the greatest swimmer in the world during his era had Mark Spitz not been born.

No question. Jerry was 2nd in most of the same events as Mark Spitz at the 1972 Munich Olympics. I am not sure if Spitz's mother had a mustache, but he did have gills.

Many great points on why you guys don't like former SWC teams. However, I can't express my opinion because I have had kids go to UT, TCU, A&M, Tech, and one go to SMU. The good news is I will be sitting in the visitors sections of all games against those schools, if we play in the future, because the one going to SMU is the only one who hasn't graduated ! Go Mustangs !

Hate is a pretty strong word but I always rejoice when Texas gets beat - never did like burned up orange. The Aggies are not that far behind though.
