Ain't that the truth.

By the way, I simply cannot understand the inconsistent reviews thing. My double double was astoundingly good for a fast foot restaurant. It came with a side of crow because of my defense of Whataburger against the Cali crowd. It blows away anything we have for true drive through fast food burgers. And, as a matter of fact in my experience only Elevation Burger, Maple & Motor, and Twisted Root have better at any level, drive thru or sit down.

The thing about INO is its 'consistency'. No matter where you go it's the same. Furthermore, it also makes a difference when it's fresh, too, & very few fast foods are freshly cooked hamburgers. Additionally, the price. Very few can compete with that!

However, I like Whataburger whenever I visit but the one thing they really lack is 'consistency'. Cleanliness of their facilities is another.

With most all fast food restaurants going to thinner slices of meat, you always have to go with double-meat wherever you eat.

I really miss Goff's. I always enjoy eating one of their burgers when I'm at SMU (off Hillcrest). My son really enjoyed his a couple of trips back & he knows nothing but California fast good.

The fries are debatable at I-n-O.
The double-double is delicious. I can understand why people would be slightly crazed over it. Well worth the two or three bucks.

You guys buying into the hype are crazy.

IaO is pretty decent fast food. The ingrediants taste fresher than usual. That's it. I'll eat it again before stopping at McDonalds for sure. But it's not some amazing superburger. It's on the same plane as whataburger.

The shake is pretty good for fast food.

The fries are garbage.

I have to give them credit, I waited 20 minutes to get through also, but they had a QUADRUPLE drivethrough setup going with cars backed out onto the 75 service road. Very efficient.

So we finally have ponyboy admitting to putting his foot in his mouth.

My foot is always in my mouth. I had to make room for the other.

Still - they are both in the same tier. If I had to have a fast food burger I would certainly go for my double double [deleted] style, but there are still about 1000 burgers in Dallas that are better...

Don't disagree at all that there are many better, but for the price IaO is not too shabby.

Oh yes definitely agree on that - it's the best fast food burger in town.

But if I have to wait 20 minutes for a burger I would still go elsewhere for now.

I'm guessing the people who live near there wouldn't agree it was efficient. I drove by last week and got stuck, and I wasn't even trying to eat.

And IaO is OK, not good ... but it's lightyears better than whataburger. My high school made better burgers than that garbage.

Just a random thought here, and realize I have never had an in and out burger and I would imagine it will be a long time before I have an opportunity to. But, I do recall as a high schooler I was big time into fast food burgers as I am sure that the young kids are still today. With that in mind, I wonder if having IandO here could have a positive effect on California recruits that are considering us. I am sure they would not make a decision based on a hamburger, but when they hear that In and Out is available in Dallas, it can give them a little sense of not being that far away from home. I actually think that it could be a factor in a young kid making a decision. And again, I am not saying it would be a deal maker but rather just another of several selling points that could be made as to positive aspects of the Dallas area.

25 minutes in line... then finally the double double I had been waiting for.

Food wise: In n out is good, but not amazing.

Atmosphere/quality: I'd put equal to Chic fil a for the best of the fast food joints

I'd put it next to Chik fil A. Wait, they did.
