Is that simply your own conjecture? If not, can you give specific hints, comments, etc as to that really happening? Obviously, it's a significant management issue if it really happens that way.

Its based on the reputation of the staff for a long time at both Hawaii and SMU-several incidents at each school of the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing in recruiting. Reinbold got sued by a Hawaii recruit who went half a year thinking he had offer which apparently June Jones never authorized.

That case was settled last year.

Welcome to the world of SMU recruiting...so while all the people that think we are [deleted] about not hitting Texas...time to start thinking other factors are causing people to be upset...

Don't beat around the bush. Lay out, a, b, c, the problems you see with SMU recruiting. I'd love to know. Seriously. No tricks. Give us your analysis.
Here's the full extent of my knowledge:
a) Focus has been to mine talent outside of Texas, which has caused some to worry that we're not sinking deep enough roots locally
b) Class is competitive with the top of CUSA
What am I missing?

Can I get someone with an honest desire to help out a fellow fan? I'd like someone to lay out -- in one place -- the current state of recruiting, warts and all, highlights and lowlights. I cannot understand why in the hell that is so difficult to do. I've explained what I see. What do you see?

This commitment lasted as long as Carlos Zambrano's fuse.

You might get a better response if you asked someone to PM you instead of asking them to put it out there publicly IMO.

I tend to be a lay it all out on the table kind of guy, a la PonyDoh/HoopManX. But if there are great hush, hush problems with the state of the program, can someone PM me, please? What I'm seeing so far looks pretty good. Thanks.

This is the strangest story of the year. A kid shows up for a tour that is not on any of our (known) recruiting lists, not rated by any recruiting service, doesn't have the reported speed or size to qualify as a linebacker prospect, that no one that follows the program has ever heard of, gets an offer on the spot, and two days later de-commits. Makes me wonder what the coach said and the recruit heard--or have we all been had?
Maybe a tactic to try and garner more offers???

The young man really likes aTm and wants to go to school there. I don't mind people having a preference but Coach Jones just said one the radio that he only wanted kids that wanted to be here. If he comes back due to aTm not offering then I guess that strategy may have to be amended.

That's the kind Coach Talk that makes me want to throw up. If we were going to only sign players who picked SMU as their dream school then about 98% of the players since the DP would never have been on our roster. However this kid is completely insane to think A&M is going to offer-they are just about done and will wait for top prospects.
