Rivals reports SMU, surely they are correct. I don't know this other site at all.

Then I would have to question their rating system also. And that is not meant to imply anything negative on the kid. He obviously has some very good offers.

Apparently I was correct in assuming he saw an opening since he states he committed after watching us play.

247 is new on the scene and is gaining a lot of momentum. They really only cover the much larger schools at this time.

Why? If there are two positions that SMU should be getting major talent, it's QB and WR. I'm far more perplexed that more top QB's haven't been in the fold (no knock on Preston, whatsoever).
I am just saying if they cannot get a school commitment right I have to question everything they do. Again, no reflection on the kid"s talent because I know from where I sit that if Petrino offers, the kid has talent.

This kid is big time. Rivals has 30-40 stories on this kid. He will be top 100 on any site.

CoxMustangFan wrote:Probably so. He probably sat back and said to himself, this is a quality program with just a few missing pieces (QB, shut-down Corner, possession receiver...). Despite the belly aching today, SMU is just missing a few pieces. Man, it would have been SOOO nice to have a shut-down corner to throw on A$M's receivers last night.
The only thing that worries me about this commit is the 2013 part. If 2012 QB's see that SMU has a stud QB coming in, we may not get the 2012 QB that we need (unless it's a Juco guy). To add insult to injury, if he changes his mind and de-commits then we would be in big trouble.
These are my biggest concerns about this as well.

It solidified what I already knew. It is a program where you can win a National Championship while earning a prestigious degree."
Think the coaches told him something we don't know about realignment?
It will be interesting how realignment affects our recruiting going forward. If cfb moves to 4 super conferences, and we're not it one, it will obviously hurt us.

On another site, he states that he is 100% committed and that he was sold on the school after watching the game last night. Let's focus on the positives from last night.

This is the only positive, probably wouldn't have happened had we opened with Bumpkinville State. Now just have to keep him and get him out there selling our message to other top recruits.

Oh no, we are falling apart. Now a top ranked QB wants to come here.
