One more step to mark my dream of UNT to C-USA coming to reality in this round of realignment. My only question for you PonyFans: do we have a symbolic trophy for our new rivalry game (ala Iron Skillet)? Awesome. The new reality is going to be truly awesome.

Actually, SMU had been tossing around a trophy idea for the upcoming, earth-shattering NTSU rivalry. It's called the "Golden Lawnmower." We're so generous, that not only are we going to let you win it, we'll let you win it every single time. Not only that, we're going to play you for it once a week, twice during the rainy seasons. You'll get to have the special trophy from about March - October.
Please remember to fill it up with gas when you're done with it.

at least you guys don't set your sights too high.
no symbolic trophy. has to be a rivalry to warrant a trophy.
how does 2-4 feel in the SunBelt w/ those two wins coming over teams that are a combined 1-10?

This is the nightmare of almost to every mustang but to UNT it is a dream come true.

Mustangs are smart enough to now when the show is over. We didn't give up when we got the death penalty, battled our way back, twenty years from death to a bowl game, but that is when you take your ball and go home.

Let me put it another way. Whilst you debate between the Big 12 and the Big East and while your Rivals guys spouts off nonsense about "serious" discussions with the SEC, we will be quietly waiting for the end of this flight of fancy. When the reality of situation hits, just bear in mind we will not hold a grudge for your arrogance. We understand that you were once at the height of this sport and it is difficult to accept that you are more aligned with the likes of us than with the likes of them. I get that. But when the game of musical chairs stops for the AQ conferences - it is highly unlikely that you get a seat. It is also highly likely that C-USA will have empty chairs to fill. We will be running for one of them. Deep down, you can see it happening. But go on, flame away.

Trying and failing (nothing new for a NUT grad). If C-USA ever did want them that would be a sign that the conference has been picked clean and fallen to Sun Belt levels of irrelevance.
