I think ford can be expanded to like 41K pretty easily and even larger if they add a second deck accross from the suites. I don't think there is any reason to go much bigger though, 40K enthusiastic fans can create as much home field advantage as you need and it's way better than having a half filled 80k stadium. How many does vandy hold?

We'd need more than 41,000. Think 52,000. There are thousands of alumni and fans of those schools in the Metroplex. Arkansas and LSU would bring 15-20,000

We can play bigger games at Jerry's Death Star or at Cotton Bowl

We absolutely make sense for the SEC in every sense but sheer size.

It is a question that is being played out again and again in expansion: Who is deciding the schools?

Is it the presidents or the ADs? What exactly are they looking for? When the Big 10 picked Nebraska over Mizzou, it sent a message as to what they were looking for: Football above all else.

But I will say this, and this I say as an open SEC fan:

The SEC absolutely does not need another football factory. They are already loaded there. They need somebody to help round out the conference; that's why I've said they ought to look at Rice. But I've said Rice because SMU's my school.
The SEC is fine on the football field and A&M WILL add depth to continue to make them better. Hopefully for us, they decide they need something else.

Vandy's at 39,000 and change. The blueprints someone showed earlier said that by closing off the endzone we go to 44,000. That's a great start. We can add another 6 -10K in a few years. We'll be fine. Gotta worry about things like parking.

Ha! we wouldn't get in because of academics-we'd get in for the market, TV base, population and most importantly because DFW produces more top recruiting prospects than any area in the Country

turn the dedman lot into a garage. And SMU still owns a lot of land... Mrs Bairds, the old movie theater, etc
