Just so we're clear here. Orsini's biggest goal this year was to begin to rebrand SMU to get into a BCS conference in a few years. He may have done it in one and you're still whining.
Will joining BCS conference (which technically has not happened, but very probably will) help will all that you've bitched about? Ticket sales? Attendance? Opponent schedule? Brand? Market presence?
Do you realize in tv alone, we could earn an additional $7.5 million alone (not exact but close-Stallion probably has the exact number memorized)?
He did everything you wanted in a different way than you asked but achieved even more, and you come on here to [deleted] on it? I am so glad we fired you.

The way this changes is when we start to get the casual Dallas fan that sees us as Dallas' team. I can't ever see any Big East opponents traveling well to Dallas. How many BE alums live in the Dallas area? Also, I can't see any of the teams besides Houston bring their band. Time to build that lost generation of Mustang fans and the casual Dallas college football fan.
Go Mustangs, beat UCF!

Louisville, Cincy, Boise, AF, WVU all will bring fans.

We'd sell out if our conference rivals were TCU, UT, Texas Tech, Baylor, OU and Ok. State instead of Central Florida, Memphis, East Carolina, etc.
We'll have better sales if we're playing better teams like Boise State, Air Force, WVU etc.
My guess on today's attendance is somewhere in the 22-25k range.

We've played Cincy and UofL in conference football before. UC is very comparable to Houston. I hope UH and SMU pull this off. It will be awesome!
I predict 31000 of attendance. Pony Up!

I hope so, but I got chastised early this week because I predicted a 22,000 real attendance gate....tickets sold ---don't equal seats taken, here at Ford. If all this TCU win and BE talk actually brings out casual SMU fans and new Dallas fans.....so be it! Bring em in! I would be happy with a 28,000 butts in seats today.

looking at Ticketmaster this morning, the entire end zone will be empty. It will be a light crowd.
