What kind of stock do you put in Sagarin? They have Tulsa at 44 (and Predictor rating, which I find much more valuable as it takes into consideration margin of victory and loss, has them at 53). By comparison, we are 33 and 37.

So taking the following Sagarin instructions...

To make predictions for upcoming games, simply compare the RATINGS of
the teams in question and allow an ADDITIONAL 3 points for the home
team.

... and using Predictor, Tulsa 53 minus SMU 37 equals 16. Give them 3 points for being at home, and we ought to be favored by 13.

I've never bought that 3 points for the Home Team-I think it should be more like 6 points for the Home team. That's why everybody [deleted] and moans when their team plays like crap on the road and like Champions at Home. It means more than 3 points.

That makes sense. And of course it doesn't take into consideration intangibles such as rivalries and other motivations like, We are going to a BCS conference and you're being left behind.

I still think we win this game. Fool us once with USM...

You don't subtract the ranking to get margin of victory, rather the ratings, the points associated with the ranking.
