Conflict of interest aside, unfortunately for Mr. Neinas, this proposal would only receive definite support from SEC, Big 12, and Big 10. There is likely less support from Pac-12 (voted against BCS originally) and ACC. There is clearly NO support from BE, CUSA, MWC, WAC, MAC, and SunBelt.

Furthermore, top two candidates for Big12 commissioner have very good ties with conferences that are currently non-AQ, albeit one of them less so in the last few months.

Look, this is just a threat from Neinas to try to convince Big East schools to not assign their media rights to the conference. If they do, the Big 12 won't be able to poach them so easily if they want to go to 12 teams after their tv contract expires--or if Kansas manages to get an invite somewhere (or Oklahoma finally decides to bail.)

The conferences would never be able to agree on the revenue distribution in such a plan, and he damn well knows that. Plus, as has been stated here multiple times, once the military academies are involved, no one is stripping the Big East of its AQ status.

One the best possible conference is Texas and OK schools together (thats just a dream). I agree completely despite peoples fear of stability, a broken BE conference beats the hell out of CUSA at its best. Hopefully Chuck will croak or to the point he has to step down. I agree that he is probably just trying to stir up a frenzy with no basis in the matter. Also SMU can never have too much money, Tulsa will always be a forgotten program. Conferences need to stop blaming BCS for realignment, but rather look at their tier one deals such as LHN destroying a very long time rivalry. SEC needs to stop having wet dreams of more than 2 of their teams going to BCS bowls. BIG is a joke. I dont know what BE is waiting for, I think just having Boise, SMU, UH, UCF go now will make the old members feel better. We can still bring BYU and A/F whenever theyre ready. Since 5 teams are pretty much football dedicated, add memphis or temple to make basketball programs happy.

As much as I want to believe BCS wont strip AQ with A/F and Navy in there, I think they will because business is business. They will say that the computers told them that they had to. Because who is going to freaking argue with a computer. Which is why A/F I think is nervous, because if they make a move and get trapped (even though its not possible) the AD will get fired. Hence just inviting us all right now strengthens the BE and bring stability and confidence to the remainder teams. I mean if you are Rutgers and you give the commish power to invite and he hasnt done it yet, I would be looking to bail as well.

If anything SMU needs more money, top 25 in everything we do should include endowment. $2.5 would put us in the top 25, Rice is #20 with $4. Also the Second Century Campaign alone is raising more money than Tulsa has in its entire endowment. Join the real winning team KTP.

When all this nonsense is over we will probably end up with the 16 team playoff we all want.

Then conferences can go back to having teams and fans that actually care about the other team they are playing and dont have to fly halfway across the freaking country for a game.

I get the recruiting angle. I dont really get the money thing. SMU, Tulsa and Rice all have insanely big endowments.

For my money I dont think the BE will be a BCS conference in 2014 and I think the BCS as we know it wont exist in 2014.

Ive always been told Tulsa has a huge pile of money in its endowment. Where do you look these things up? Id be curious to know what it is.
