Actually thought he would be gone sooner than later...but I don't see him turning down the cash...
The Hawaiian beach house needs a makeover and an addition...

Does anyone check stats before they speak?
Hawaii was #34 in total defense and #46 in scoring defense and that was after playing UGA.
That is decent defense, especially when you have the #1 scoring offense.
Also, our defense has gotten radically better under June.
2008 - #118
2009 - #84
2010 - #40
2011 - #35
Enough with this "he does not coach defense"
What we are all waiting to see is the offense. We know he can do it with the right parts. Hopefully soon!

Vote for Adam Still today. He's close and your vote could put him in the lead.

I think June has a home here as long as he wants it. When he feels he's gone far as he should he'll let us know. As to who would be better...I know only one...but I think June already visits with Him on a regular basis. Perhaps that's why June seems to work in a few miracles.

I don't understand how anyone who loves SMU can even suggest another coach. Hasn't the last twenty years given you enough evidence that June Jones is a great coach? BUT FOR YOUR EXPLANATION: During that 20 year period SMU had some very well thought of men leading the program. Now, Jones does what anyone on the board would have thought impossible just a few years ago - AND he's done it with a weak team. I don't want to knock the players because they have played valiantly esp. for Coach Jones but, lets face it, SMU has been low on the totem pole when it comes to recruiting 3, 4 and 5 star players. June has become a winner with an offense that requires a top notch quarterback and top notch receivers. AND he has done this with players less than 4 stars who have played way above expectations. If that continues to be the case then JONES IS THE PERFECT MATCH. Secondly, as many have pointed out on this board, June Jones will most likely be gone way before the vast majority of us want him to. Then you will have your wish and someone else will get the opportunity to keep SMU from following back to being a bottom feeder. Like I wrote earlier, over the last twenty years many well respected coaches tried and failed.

By the way, the qbs (and receivers) are coming. May I draw your attention to the recruiting page?

Hawaii was a different situation - not sure you can base anything on 2007.
Different recruiting, different coaches, different school. The talent level wasn't where it needs to be. We can be a Houston type team in the future WITH defense.
Please enjoy those 3 bowls for now, good grief.

yes, and you have no facts as to why he can't - he hasn't played in a BCS conference you fools. He hasn't recruited against them in a BCS conference or played against them. NFL is the only thing he's got besides Hawaii. Nobody can produce anything b/c there is no past history.

this is a pointless thread.
Yes, look it up - he hasn't fared well against ranked opponents in Hawaii, who cares.

without pointless threads, what would we do with the other 99% of our PF time?

There are varying degrees of pointless threads

Had Clint Murchison listened to your kind of thinking (BangoBongo) Tom Landry would have been a shoe salesman.
