If you are going to Houston this season then this is the game. The other big remaining match-up is away at Tulsa. So why not? Houston will likely end up in the top 7 or so and be in an ESPN bowl. And the Keenum factor is there.

LSU Bama was not on ABC/ESPN, it was on CBS.

True, but a #1 vs #2 on network tv in a conference that ESPN has a huge contract with is a lot different than two teams who can't get their own fans out to games and are in a conference whose tv contract is with a competing cable network.
Even games that are between ranked opponents barely get a mention during the broadcast when they are FSN games.

They went to TCU/Utah which was a CBSCS game a few years ago.

A game which had BCS implications though.
I would be happy to eat crow on this, but I don't see any way this is happening. If there ends up not being a significant game next week, they will go to LSU-Ole Miss so they can hang out on the grove after the broadcast.

If TCU beat Boise State this week they will be in Houston. Book it!

The TV coverage has nothing to do with GameDay - they have been to seveal TCU games and those have all been with Vs (NBC), FSN (FOX) and CBS. They would do this to throw UH a bone (and SMU is a "sexy" opponent with the BE tie in and the June Jones name recognition factor)

They aren't going near the Penn St./OSU game. And I think they'll wait for Okie St b/c bedlam is in Stillwater this year.
I think a trip to UH is likelier than all of us imagine. Not guaranteed, but when you run down the list, you can see how it would happen.
Especially if we win. 10-0 UH vs. 7-3 SMU. Both teams with best starts in decades, if not ever (UH).

You guys are dreaming. Nebraska-Michigan, USC-Oregon, and Cal-Stanford are all much bigger games. If they are really looking for an undefeated team with a Heisman candidate QB, Stanford tops UH.

Cal -Stanford is a biggie...you are right on that one. More fun out there too for the crew and all involved.

Not if Oregon beats Stanford.
I could absolutely see them going to SMU-UH.
I'm not going to tell you that he needs to win, but why hasn't Keenan been at least TALKED about for the Heisman?

He has, I remember seeing him in the back 5-10 possible candidates, I think he is number 7 and after Tulane game and possible losses he might get to 4.
