Obviously capacity and volume escaped your education. Of course you wouldn't know about that at SMU, would you?

are you insinuating that every UH home game is typically sold out? that we shouldn't be surprised that tickets are unavailable?

Definitely a supply/demand issue. I wouldn't have an intellectual debate with someone who doesn't understand basic economics and actually tries to make ticket pricing demands. That's just silly. Anyways, as for the game, I just hope we make it competitive. Houston is playing well and we've been in reverse since the usm game. A win would be fantastic but they haven't instilled a lot of confidence.

Every UH home game in 2010 sold out, including all of the games after Case Keenum's injury. Majority of games this year have been sellouts, with one or two exceptions -- those games were maybe a few hundred short of sellouts. So yes, UH games are typically sold out.

hey uhcoug- How many more years for Keenum? Oh, I guess that depends on how many more docs you can falsify and how much more you can bribe the nca-holes to give him - what 3,4,5 more years. Where do they send his social security checks?

Tickets for Saturday's game are sold out. Cougar fans will witness the final regular-season home game for a senior class that includes school and NCAA record holders Tyron Carrier, Patrick Edwards, Case Keenum and Marcus McGraw.

Moose wrote:No. The original responses were regarding the Cougar who said it would be wrong to sell tickets for market price if that was greater than what you paid for them. Normally, Houston tickets are as easy to get as a UH diploma.....this week they are listed on Stubhub for twice what you pay for a UH degree.

The response wasn't that it was wrong to sell tickets for market price. He provided a link to the UH message board ticket exchange where it is frowned upon. If you want to buy/sell them elsewhere at a premium, do it. But Coogfans is not the right forum for that type of transaction.

How does UH sell out? Why does Houston, a commuter school in a major market do it?

When you have that many people that go through a school, you're bound to have some that are interested in football. If we had an enrollment north of 25K, we'd probably sellout Ford every week, too.

It's always fun to hear the talking points of "Houston is a pro sports town" and "Houston is just full of Aggies and Tsips" when arguing that UH shouldn't be invited to a BCS conference due to a perceived lack of interest, and then hear how "Houston is a commuter school in a major market" when trying to justify why we deserve no credit for filling our stadium week in/week out". You can't have it both ways.

FYI, because I'm assuming you haven't been on our campus in a while, if ever -- UH has added and is continuing to add a large amount of on-campus housing, and is projected in 2015 to have a similar percentage of students living on-campus as other state universities in Texas that aren't labelled with the "commuter" tag.

I realize I am on your board, and I'm all for some game week trash talking, but I don't see the need for the ill-informed, played out cliches I see in this thread.

And on behalf of UH, with respect to your Big East invite, I'll say you're welcome. Because you sure as hell wouldn't be coming along if it wasn't to be a travel partner for UH.

hey coug- two comments.
first- used to visit your campus almost every month. It is crap- and that is being nice.
Secondly- the BE could have just as easily invited Rice- a school with perhaps just slightly higher academic standars than cougar jr. high so don't pimp that attitude that we would not have an invite with your ' sewage school'.

WTF?....Hey back off...it was just a question and I was actually impressed UH does sell out. Quit being so friggin thin skinned and get off here if you can't converse without getting defensive. UH IS traditionally known as a commuter school in a major market with inherent problems that all similar schools like it does. I said nothing about anything else that you added. So go back to the couger hole you came from...You UH parchment means jack $h*(.

Bullsh, sellouts are a NEW DEVELOPMENT in Houston. Go back and check the attendance:

CAPACITY 32,000

2008
Southern 26,555
Air Force 2,546 (I grant a pass on this one...it was at Ford due to Hurricane Ike)
UAB 18,246
Tulane 23,522
UTEP 18,134

2009
NW State 22,043
Texas Tech 32,114
SMU 26,889
USM 20,125
Memphis 22,036
Rice 28,243

"Usually" sells out my [deleted]. UH has been selling out games for 2 years now, during which a good chunk were probably sold in 2010 before the Keenum injury. Houston has very similar attendance issues to us, although not quite as bad on the low end.

One good season from a 6th year player and they think they are [deleted] Alabama or something.

Reading comprehension my friend. Did I say anything about 2008 or 2009? I plainly stated that we sold out in 2010 and 2011. That's a trend of sell-outs. I think a reasonable person would agree that that qualifies as "typically" selling out.

We haven't always sold out, if you go back far enough. Just like if I looked at SMU's records far enough back in time, I'd find a decent football team somewhere, maybe, but maybe not if you discount all the cheating.

We don't discount the cheating. Hell, we got a great 30 for 30 out of it! Thanks again Thad, I bought two copies.
