With Line out, I can't believe coaches haven't at least given 2nd team RB true freshman Williams some more carries during the season as a change of pace. Kid has got to play at undefeated Houston on national TV with basically no game experience. Line has been hurt all year, and though he is a tough player, you knew there was probably going to be some games he couldn't go during the season. So why not get Williams some experience ?

I love it. All the talk this season is we need to give Line the ball more. He needs to build the stats for national prominence and awards. It balances out the offense.
Now it's why haven't the backups gotten more playing time and reps.
Let's just hope to lose by less than 28. Hope UH wins out and plays in a BCS game and cash our paycheck. Then we can all start [deleted] and moaning about using the money for a marketing department.

Has June always been adverse to getting the backups playing time whenever there is a chance?

If that's true......looks like a 6-6 season.
It's true

Cole Loftin is a receiver, maybe you're thinking of Bryce Lunday?

Every since the Cavan years, I feel like SMU's players are a bunch of lazy underachievers. I remember sitting in classes with Cavan's players from 1997 to 2001 - what a bunch of lazy underachievers those guys were. I felt like I was in class with Beavis and Butthead.
Tom Rossley's players had a lot of heart. Lots of overachievers there. It shows based on how well those players have all done with their careers after football. As for the players since the Cavan years, can't say much about those guys...
Sadly this is true. Cavan recruits were not expected to excel in the class room. They did the bare minimum in class and few of them had the ability to turn it on on the field. Vic was an exception. Rossley recruited student athletes who had offers to other programs. He did it he right way and I think if he had been given more time he was on the road to turning things around. I always thought he should have hired an OC but that's just my opinion.
I have talked to a few current players and the ones I talk to remind me more of Rossley's recruits than Cavan. I divorced myself from the program during most of Bennett's tenure so I can't speak intelligently about those guys, but I lived through Rossley and Cavan and am more plugged in now.

Why not give Kevin Pope the Class A Earl Campbell a Shot. He got time there in the spring. We know he'll hit which Jones wants at RB and now he has game experience. Plus if he's capable we don't blow an unnecessary redshirt. I actually have no problem blowing Neimchi's redshirt AS LONG AS HE ACTUALLY PLAYS SUBSTANTIAL MINUTES-we still got 3 games to play

This shows how bone headed Darryl Fields was for leaving. I think the guy was going to be a very good one, but he got his feelings hurt when they were trying him out at LB and now he's struggling to play D2 (or whatever it's called) ball. This would be his chance to shine.

yeah, i'd say that impacted it as well.
funny how people are quick to forget that both shanwbrey and fields didn't have the grades and would have been ineligible even if they had stayed around.
