Freshmen Padron, Mitchell and Piland were all better than JJ these past two games but I'm over making that point; it is just astonishing that behind JJ we have nothing to put on the field.

It's not astonishing at all. We came into this season with two experienced QBs, one true freshman, and one red-shirt freshman whose first year was a total wash due to injury. The freshmen aren't ready. The experienced backup suffered a serious injury. The starting experienced QB is playing hurt. So there you go. Are we supposed to have four game-ready experienced QBs ready to trot out there? I'm not aware of too many college programs that have that kind of depth.

Believe me, I'm really frustrated by the QB play since UCF. But I think the coaches are in a tight spot and I'm not ready to point the finger and say its simply their fault based on the bad luck we've had with QBs this year.

We've brought in a quality QB recruit in every class since 2009 (Kaiser, Preston, Burcham, and (hopefully) Printz). Throw former 5-star recruit Gilbert in there, and I think we're going to have some good QB options going forward. There will be good competition for the job.

I've seen 3rd-string freshmen and red shirt freshmen take the field and do serviceable jobs plenty of times, most recently Piland but whatever. maybe I'm the only one astonished.

Margus has been very quiet these last 4-5 games. I am actually a little disappointed as I thought he would be a much stronger defensive force than he has been.

GO PONIES!!!

Actually, I think his defensive line play is better now than it has been. I think he really played well on the line against Houston.
