There are lots of candidates....We wont need them for a bit, and maybe not for longer than that if we start grooming A.Klemm
Which is what we should be doing....Young, african american, dynamic recruiter, played for bellichik...
sounds like a good resume to me

If June goes Klemm goes, you didn't list anything but a bunch of lightweight non-AQ coaches and a DC (the exact type of coaches I fear we'd be reduced to considering if June left).

You are an idiot...
What do you think JJ was?
A lightweight coach at Hawaii, who has neglected texas recruiting for 3 years, ect.
These guys are dynamic young effective coaches that are going to be coaching teams in the SEC, Big 12, acc within 2 years...

We are a desired job and can pay 2 mil....
Big east TV contract will allow for many upgrades...
Once again, I firmly believe JJ is not going anywhere, but this is a good and highly desired job...

JJ was a former NFL HC who turned down an extension from the Chargers to turn around a moribund Hawaii program. With no recruiting budget he managed to get Hawaii to a BCS game. The guy was anything but a lightweight. You just listed a bunch of nondescript, lightweight non-AQ coaches with weak resumes. I yawned.

Sorry to break the truth to you...
JJ was a lightweight non aq coach....
He constantly talks about returning to the NFL, but no one wants him
He talks about a maryland offer that he was never in play for...
He was the right guy at the right time for us, but I still don't believe he is building a TCU type of program here....

June could do like Sumlin. Both June and Sumlin are going to have less talent next year so they might bolt for a better contract to a BCS team. ASU has talent, they just need a good coach.

Sorry to break this truth to you but lightweights don't take teams to BCS games. How many BCS games have your group of nobodies been to? How many former Sun Belt coaches are doing anything in AQ leagues? There's a reason that conference is the worst in America.

i am usually in agreement with you but you are off on this one. 2+ M buys us lots of love - many existing HC plus solid coordinator options. June hire was brilliant (i think he was better then Nick is describing but not like he was nick Sabin or something) - we were basically Rice back then - so very lucky to get a rebuilder.
Hope he doesnt leave but our situation is far different then it was. We might lose a QB recruit but nobody else - they come for the chance to play and that wont change, nor will our committment to win through "creative" admissions and tutors out the wazzo. This is a great job for the next guy whenever that happens.
Much as I love Klemm he is not our next HC, or anyone else's. He will need to go OC first - If it is one thing we have learned you hire someone who brings a competent staff with them, which rules out all but a few coordiantors.

My list to replace JJ would be:
1. Todd Dodge
2. Turner Gill
3. Charlie Waters
4. AppleBowden
