Great class....as was
Survey of Dance, Evolution of Jazz, Mass Media...all were certainly GPA friendly.

For the dumba$$ but really good at football.... yes. Im tired of losing people because they cant handle school. If they cant handle it here then get them to squeak by and hope they get to the NFL... otherwise a few kids who wont get jobs wont hurt the school all that much. Once we get good recruits (and smart) then get rid of the cheating method.
you have outdone yourself again.

can the school have an official min GPA low enough for athletes to get in and an unofficial GPA for all other applicants?
And creating a sports management/coaching major isn't a bad idea. Throw in a few common sense and basic decision making classes and you are good to go. And once the football program gets better you add basic finance so they dont get ripped off by their agent/friends/family/investment advisers etc.

following 11's logic, we should just have people start taking the SAT for some athletes to make sure they can get in. perhaps we should start paying them to come here as well. sort of like putting them on a payroll.

Didn't one of the assistant coaches when Mike Cavan was here do that?

Ah the Malin scandal! I remember the good old days with Mike Cavan.
Mike Cavan in response to Jim Copeland having seen enough to evaluate him. "Well, I've had enough"

I hope you havent really taken what I wrote seriously. Even if it was, there would be no way that SMU would attempt or agree to it. Im just sick of people flunking. This school is hard to get an A, manageable to get a B+, B, and extremely easy to get B-, C+, C.... I mean till the young players to take freaking EE1301, one of the freaking assignments is drawing a barcode....

Who has had more recruits flunk out or not get into school - Klemm or Reinebold?

Whats the point of that question....
It obvious klemm goes after higher profile recruits and closes the door, a big reason we get some of those guys is that they are the border of qualifying and we will hold a spot for them where some don't.
If we had 3 coaches like AK, we would be right there BCS busting every year...
The guy works his asz off builds relationships and manages 4-5 other guys who give little to no time to recruiting even though its their job.
My problem with the staff stems beyond the fact they really don't love SMU, don't embrace our traditions, ect. and moves into the fact that if they worked in the professional world we would all want them fired for lack of effort...

a number guys in that class are no longer with the program.
kevion gamble
chayse joubert
jr mcconico
ryan clark & beck coulter - never made it in
but you're right, outside of the guys i initially mentioned, there's not a lot of depth offered by that class.
Chayse Joubert is still on the team, as a backup DB.
