Look if we're going to the Big East in 2013, that year may be important in the transition. And the successor will sell a BCS conference.

Mitch is a voice of reason. I like it.

Does Klemm even come with him or could he step in as HC at SMU? This is already as bad as it gets, but with NO Klemm this is beyond unthinkable!
If they gave June the job without making 100% sure Klemm was coming with him then that's an epic fail on ASU's part especially if they let another Pac-12 school snap him up.

There is a plausible explanation for JJ to call his assistants in to talk and that is the BE announcement is today and after 5 p.m. they can start telling recruits that they will play in the BE. That seems to be to be the most likely scenario since that press conference has been announced by AP.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

I am extremely disappointed in JJ if this happens. He is not the man I thought he was.

Forget Klemm. He and all the JJ groupies will be gone. Some of the others like Mason would be the exceptions. I expect part of JJ's meeting with the coaches is to tell them which ones he wants.

Re: Latest from ASU rivals: JJ
And Jeff hasn't posted any updates on Facebook since Tuesday....
I'm on the fence with JJ: he's done some good for the school and if he announces that he is leaving today, when SMU is making a significant transition to another conference, well, that's just not cool...
However, I do have confidence in the CoC. Most on this board did not think that JJ would be our coach four years ago, immediately after leading a team to the Sugar Bowl. That was a great acquisition at the time.
Perhaps, just perhaps, SO, CoC and others can land a well-respected replacement who can bring in HIS recruits to SMU. Losing and gaining coaches doesn't occur in a vacuum. Hawai'i's loss was our gain. We can gain from JJ's replacement, if he does leave.
I think SO, CoC, and the administration have the tools in place to recruit a coach who can take our current talent, bring in his recruits, and hit the ground for a successful year next year.
While I do not like the timing of this announcement and the discussions leading up to it, in a way I am grateful that another school wants our coach, instead of us firing a coach and trying to find a replacement. This is a sign of progress.

Don't need an in-person meeting for that announcement, if the reports are accurate.
