ASU doesn't want to pay that much money for the buy out. Also says that the meeting that took place today went from 10 - 12:15 or so with JJ telling staff that the ASU job is all but a done deal.
Also saying that JJ has looked at ASU recruiting class and will pick some SMU recruits to try to attract to ASU to blend in ASU/SMU recruits.
"Will JJ be successful at ASU? I think he will be more successful than the general public does. I've not been the biggest fan of how JJ has operated things here, but he can be successful. Mason's defense has been successful and recruiting is successful. How can a guy who hasn't won CUSA win Pac 12? Give him time."
"Klemm is coming with JJ. 100%. Klemm has had house in Arizona last 10 years, wants to be in Arizona. His goal all along has been to get to Pac 12."
"Will Mason come with JJ?" Don't know. If he wants to go to ASU, I think we will go to ASU.
F--k JJ, Steinberg and ASU. The buyout is 2 mill and not a penny less. I hope SO holds his water on that one. It will cost us a ton in lost recruits, wins etc. so step up to the bar and pay the friggin tab.
SMU better not cave on the buy out price. After what has gone down or I should say how is has been handled, SMU owes JJ nothing as far as negotiating on buy out. I would assume the CofC will not want to negotiate the price because the new coach will be just as much if not a little more.
