I wonder where he will be next year?
Well I guess based on his comments it won't be SMU.

Pony64, I am certainly glad that my father never had to answer publicly for something stupid I said when I was 17. I certainly said plenty, there just wasn't facebook and twitter yet then, so no one found out about it.
What he said pissed us all off, but it was a high school kid who spouted off in response to angry fans when his family wasn't having its best day. Leave it at that and move on.

I hear you man, but I'm running with the "Out of Bounds" crowd.
I hear what you’re saying as well, but I think if everyone is just honest neither he nor his family really cares about our school or its direction for the future.
We not only need a new coach that knows what he's doing on the field, but one that actually appreciates our community. Jones has also kept one foot of the field and the other back in Hawaii or someplace else he can play golf at.

Don't disagree with you on that. Just don't think a kid that said something stupid on facebook and pulled it down shortly after needs to be addressed by his father at work. He obviously realized his mistake quickly. We got an idea of what June thinks about us, and that is good to know I guess, but it is what it is.

The difference is my father as I would suspect yours was not a public figure. June clearly is. Listen I get that fact he's kid and all that, but I just want a dam apology. That's not asking for a hell of a lot given the circumstances.

Well at least he took it down. Still think an apology would go a long way.

I am certain that you will get a much more interesting answer if you ask (civily) about the common perception that he (June) does not care much about the school or its future than if you mention his son. As soon as you mention his son he will respond with something like "I am an adult and it is fair for you to take shots at me, but I really wish we could leave my family out of it" and then Gary will call on someone else. Maybe you will get a lot of satisfaction out of asking a question that slams his kid, but you will not get an answer that satisfies you.

Sounds like a good time to chime in with this. My youngest son has a mom from baton rouge and a sister who graduated from LSU. When someone asked if he was excited about the tigers in the bcs natl champ game, he told them his heart was shaped like a mustang when he was born, so nope.

Inappropriate to bring the son up in the luncheon..... but I certainly saved the image of what he wrote to bring up over and over again on ponyfans for entertainment value.

I would address him directly and not in a public forum.

That would not be my route at all. I plan to address it with him privately.

This is what you said earlier:
Pony64 wrote:The respectable thing for June to do is for not only him, but his son to formally apologize to the entire school and alumni.
He and his son formally apologizing to the entire school and alumni is private?
