Re: Myers Looking at TCU Now
quite frankly I'm not sure TCU offers-they've been filled up for months and unless they lose some recruits I think there may be some higher prospects. He is right on the cusp I would think-could go either way. TCU historically signs less than any program in the State-they just do a great job of developing the players they sign.

I think the hope is:
1) BE champion retains BCS bowl rights
2) SMU wins BCS and goes to Orange / Sugar / Rose / Fiesta
3) assuming JJ is HC, he does not have a Sugar Bowl moment
4) by the time 2) occurs, attendance issues will have improved
and to your point
5) recruiting gets big boost and we are able to compete with any Big 12 school sans UT or OU, much like the boost TCU got from Fiesta and Rose appearances even though they were in inferior MWC conference

As far as attendance.....I tuned in to the UNLV-TCU game attended by Myers and there were a lot of empty seats. They were complaining about it on the Frog forum.

I wonder what Seavers is thinking now. Since TCU apparently didn't offer but got the OL from Haltom to switch from Tech, guess there was OL room after all but he wasn't their first choice.
That's the way I read it.

Someone send Myers a 'humble pie'. If we weren't in a bind I would say pull his offer. just explain we have higher standards than froggie land.

I dont know how people (unless they went there) could like UT. I really dont get it. Besides Purple, orange is the worst color. Longhorns are meant to be eaten not praised, hence longhorn steakhouse.
Big East has more opportunities than the Big 12. If you arent on OU or UT, then you might as well look elsewhere. I know Baylor and OSU are on top, but for how long? UT always has the top recruiting class, and I can only imagine when they steer their young team into a mega monster like LSU this year. Im sure its going to be tons of fun in the Big 12. Big East gives us the money, AQ, connections, and the overall ability to compete. If we can make a winning season for 2 years then we will be recognized especially beating one or two of Big 12 teams.
