Predictions based on major unknowns on the OL:

Baylor - L, OL not ready for Big 12 on road
SFA - W
A&M - L, OL not ready for Big 12 team.
TCU - L, they will be better than this year.
UTEP - W
Tulane - W
Houston - 50-50, they have issues, but so do we.
Memphis - W
UCF - L
Southern Miss - 50-50
Rice - W
Tulsa - 50-50

I think we have 5 wins and 4 losses right away on that schedule. Worst case scenario: OL is horrible, QB situation doesn't pan out, we finish 5-7. Best case scenario, OL and QB perform well and we go 8 - 4.

I will set my expectations at 6 - 6 until I see the OL in fall practice...

Makes sense.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Baylor - L, OL not ready for Big 12 on road possible, this team is still pretty good even without RGIII (possiby best team we play this year)
SFA - W
A&M - L, OL not ready for Big 12 team is possible but this team will be overrated and very beatable.
TCU - W (obvious W)
UTEP - W
Tulane - W
Houston - 50-50, they have issues, but so do we. I'll give you that. We seem to have a mental block against them
Memphis - W
UCF - W
Southern Miss - W (new staff, best players not there)
Rice - W
Tulsa - W

I like having our toughest conference games at home not to mention Aggies and Frogs. Looks great. If we get decent QB production and have a healthy RB, I'm saying 6 CUSA wins. I agree with those that say we aren't ready to beat the Big 12 opponents, but I think we will beat one of them. Is 8-4 about the best we realistically can hope for?

My early expectation is 1-3 non-conference and 8-0 in CUSA. 9-3 overall. I will likely readjust my expectations shortly before the season.

2012's OL won't be ready for Big 12 teams? When was our OL ever ready for the Big 12 or anyone?

I would normally like a good crisp, autumn afternoon game. Selfishly it is much easier for me to travel and I can go down and back same day saving on expenses. But one of our many attendance problems is the number of high profile games that are on every Saturday afternoon. Not only does it keep people home but also keeps them on the Blvd in front of their generator powered HDTVs. At night the games are a little more limited and usually only one or 2 major games. So night games could help get some people out to Ford from home or into Ford from the Blvd.

Either way, I am already ready for some football.

If GG starts, SFA could very well be higher

You know, as depressing as it might seem for SMU to pimp UT's quarterback as a reason to attend- do it.

Texas has the biggest fan base in the country. I know for a fact that many of my friends would come see him play and cheer for him to succeed.

Would they purchase tickets to a game to watch him wear a baseball cap backwards on the sideline? Unless I missed information on him being granted a waiver he will not be playing against SFA.
