A good take on this and us from Eamonn Brennan at ESPN Blog. I think a lot of people will keep an eye on us just to see how things play out. Also, compare what Brown has been able to bring in with What Doh brought in year 1. Good to have him and hopefully that will get him to reach his full potential.
An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
If this guy can't score (and I'm not saying he can't, but 1.0 ppg is not impressive), maybe he at least can use that athleticism and length to be an active guard on the defensive end, the kind Coach B was talking about when he said "we're going to pick you up at the airport."
Could be like a shot blocker. Even if you can't score, stopping the other guy from scoring is just as good.
SMU's trajectory into the Big East, under Brown, with Howard and the rest of that staff, is going to be utterly fascinating to watch. How quickly, with a legendary coach and a great staff, can a few men bring a long-forgotten basketball program into relevance? And how? And if/when the players do arrive, can Brown still work his coach-'em-up magic?
He hasn't done anything yet but cause a little trouble. But here's his chance to keep his head up, keep clean for a year on the end of the bench, and make the most of his last chance. Welcome to the hilltop.
