We have to knock off the McDermott basing. What couldn't be reported to the media at the time was that he was so beat up at the end that he didn't practice all week, then went cold into the game on Sat.
If you want to know what kind of QB he was, watch the TCU game and the BBVA Compass Bowl.

I'm not here to bash the qb's this is just an observation. Maybe it is a good thing that we have a new OL coach. I know qb's are going to take their hits throughout the year, but I find it a little bit troubling that we have had QB's who have been as dinged up as Padron and JJ were at the end of the year. Not to mention Bo Levi's injury from a few years ago even though that ended up being somewhat of a blessing to our season. The OL's main job is to protect the QB and clearly that hasn't been the case the past few years. So all I'm saying is that maybe instead of blaming it mainly on the QB maybe the blame should go to the OL

Of course. Some of the blame always goes to the OL, just as QBs generally are quick to credit their OL when they succeed, because they know they're useless if they're getting knocked down on every play.
Plus, listen to interviews with just about any player, and he'll say that just about EVERYONE gets beaten up by the end of the year. Compared to a lot of teams, the Ponies have been relatively fortunate in terms of the health of our QBs and OLs.
I agree that everyone shares blame when the QB's get banged up the way JJ and Kyle were, but JJ likes the QB's to sit in the pocket and find their relievers instead of moving around. Unless the QB gets ample time he is a sitting duck.
With the quickness and speed of our receivers our QB[probably GG] shouldn't need much time to find someone open. Hopefully GG can make the reads better and quicker than our 2 former Qbs who were sluggish to do so.

Agreed.
I think JP convinces JJ (I hope) to install the hurry up (we've heard from DJ that they practiced it in Spring ball) and we see a lot more quick outs to keep moving the ball (seems like a focal point based on PP's awesome 7on7 reports). We finally have the personnel to execute the offense as it's meant to be executed IMHO.
