Baylor 42
SMU 17

4 turnovers for us and no chance at stopping Baylor's speed at WR.

It won't be a runaway game for anyone. Baylor's defense last year was perhaps the most porous in college football. If Gilbert can exploit that, then SMU could possibly win this game.

Hopefully Bill Bennett has coached these kids how to tackle. I'm pretty sure my four year old daughter could have done a better job than most of Baylor's defense last year.

All that being said, Nick Florence did a great job last year filling in for RG3. I'm not expecting Heisman out of him. But he is probably better than Gilbert. And his wide receivers and running backs are excellent. There is still a lot of power left in Baylor's offense. It wasn't a one man show last year.

Baylor wins by a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Good luck Mustangs. I hope we play you guys on a regular basis.

Our D is better, our running back is better and both are starting new QBs.Now the Bears QB looked damn good when he played last year I still think JJ the QB guru will work his magic for GG.

tcu was toe to toe with baylor last year and baylor had an nfl qb and wide receivers

smu beat tcu

baylor losses qb and wide receivers

= smu win

This game is a lot different than last yrs game at a&m. We are in no way intimidated about the stadium and BU team. They did lose 3 games last year with a Heisman QB and plenty of NFL talent. They quite possibly have the worst D in the nation (last yr at least) and a bad D coordinator. If our D makes some stops and our O-Line protects we will win this game.

Flawed logic. The transitive property of games never works as it ignores matchups. I could just as easily say we will blow you out as we blew out Rice who almost beat you in Dallas.

Neither would be correct.

SMU's strength is its defense. BU's strength is its offense. SMU is weaker on offense than on defense. BU is weaker on defense than on offense.

So it comes down to which team's Stud of the Crud performs better against the other guy's Stud of the Crud.

In this case I go with SMU

SMU 31
BU 19

Everyone keeps talking about how good our defense is, and I do think it is pretty good, but we have NOT ONCE fared well against no huddle offenses since Mason has been here. That worries me when you play Baylor and Art Briles.

That just means we're due right?

Everyone expects a shootout, so I'm going with:

SMU 3
Baylor 2

Should be a great one!

Here is how I look at the game:

Best QB? Answer is Gilbert, hands down. After watching Gilbert in practice, we have the better quarterback.

Best WR: I think DJ. He will be a third round draft pick in the draft. Baylor has good speed at WR, but nobody at that level, I don't think.

Best: RB: Line. Number FB in the next draft. Done.

Best Defense: SMU in a landslide. We have 4 players getting looked at for the draft next year, including the #13 pick in Kiper's latest list.

Turnovers and penalties will be a big deal on the road, but i think SMU is the better team and overcomes the road worries. 42-24 SMU
