Why did the band play Varsity before the other band stopped?

I agree that it's normally bad etiquette to play while the other band is playing, but A&M's alma mater is roughly six hours long, and I'm pretty sure everyone in the band just wanted to get out of there.

I agree. The Mustang Band made the best of a bad and potentially very awkward situation.
