Gostsangs, we won't need the COC or at least not like we use to. The one thing that was good was that we beat a traitor to the big east and we secure the invite to finally money. The CoC I'm sure next year will be disbanded once the check comes in from tv money. If Aresco doesn't screw us on tier level tv then we can at least expect 14 mil a team from an Espn/fox tv deal as most media speculators think

And if JJ is still here next year we will need that money to replace all of the former fans who refuse to accept substandard coaching and will not be in the stands or donating money.

I think 6 wins would keep him hear for a slow painful demise of the program.

Everyone needs to calm down, for Pete's sake. First, we scored 72 points against Houston, then beat Memphis 44-13 and everyone's acting like the sky is falling. Light up a fat one and listen to some Willie Nelson.

Ok I'm happy to beat teams like Memphis and a restricting Houston to death like a fat kid does to CUPCAKES but the fact we go up against competition in normal weather games like toddlers worries fans like me for next year and those years to come. If Tulsa beats Arkansas next week, and we destroy UCF, I will feel 1000X better. However beating UCF, Houston and Memphis, gives us only 3 wins in the new big east. We need to win in solid fashion for the rest of the year to look formidable against Aggies, Raiders, Froggies, and Bears... Then nBE

If SMU does not finish strong and still decides to keep June Jones then SMU will be headed for a slow painful demise.

6 wins and a bowl birth could do it.

I'm fairly certain JJ will be gone after this season. With that, we will be faced with the biggest, most important coaching hire in the history of SMU. We have to land a coach who can take us to the next level, and quickly.

I don't think he will be fired until we hear about the tv money and that amount of money needs to be adequate. If we get the money then yes expect a good portion of big east money going to a good coach. Whatever is left along with COC people's continue donation to the long term constructions plans.

I'm hoping for 8 wins. 6 should not be enough to retain him as it would leave us with a losing record. Considering our schedule that would be atrocious and magnify our loss to Tulane.

I suppose a 9-5 season is still possible, but I will have to admit I am not at all confident about these next 2 games and a 5-7 finish is more likely than 8-9 wins
