Personally, I liked this uni. 8)

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Back to Doak and suspension helmets.......just flipped the page of my President's high dollar contributor desk calendar..........and there's "Doak Walker, 1947" in a suspension helmet (can't tell color as photo is black and white) being chased by a fellow in a leather helmet looking very much chagrined to be photographed in such shoddy equipment.
