http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... -divisions

"League officials already have discussed how to split the divisions when the Big East grows to 14 teams. Sources said the most popular 14-team model would then be Red and Blue divisions that are nongeographic.

The proposed Red Division in 2015 would consist of Louisville, UConn, Memphis, Navy, San Diego State, USF and SMU, while the Blue Division would consist of Boise State, Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, Rutgers, Temple and the 14th team.

Each team would play six games within its division and two games against the other division, including one permanent cross-division game. The annual cross-division games would be Cincinnati-Louisville, UConn-Rutgers, Boise State-San Diego State, Houston-SMU, Navy-Temple, UCF-USF and Memphis versus the 14th team.

Those division lineups could be tweaked to appease the Big East's future TV partners and increase the worth of the media rights deal.."

The west division is the best of all the non-aq conferences. The east is the what remains from the the current Big East, which has been labeled a weak conference. Not sure what you are upset about.

The east conference is not the weakest division and the west is not the best of all non aq confernces. They should have put 1 or 2 former BCS teams in the west as opposed to Temple who will not even go to a bowl this year and has gotten jacked up in the last 4 conference games. So we are in the worst division of a weak conference. By the way, Temple did not even win the MAC. SDSU has just gotten half way respectable and Memphis is terrible. Our television contract negotiations could suffer if the commissioner operates like this. Also, I am not sure recruits would be excited about playing Temple, SDSU, and Memphis in the divisions as they would be about paly Louisville, Cincy, or Rutgers. One good thing is that SMU should easily go bowling.

I like the Red division with SMU for travel cities, if only we could trade UConn for Rutgers. I want to go to NYC every other year.

agree, I'm a Jersey guy and think my fellow pony fans and their spouses will have a much better time in NYC. I use to live in Philly and I like Philly but NYC has everything.
Only today I heard that in NYC there are 40 Broadway shows, plus off Broadway and off off Broadway just to interest ponyfans.
At the least, the basketball tournament will be in Madison Square Garden and it was just renovated. Wouldn’t be opposed that a bunch of ponyfans get together and take in the town.

Louisville is a only five hour drive from Chicago and I will make away games in Tampa and San Diego, where my son, who went to SMU lives. Perfect BE alignment for me. However, we will need to raise our game, if we want to be competitive with the Cardinals and Broncos, for that matter.

You guys who want an easy OOC sounds like a bunch of [deleted] just saying. It's embarrassing. We shouldn't be doing the JJ method. When your WAC games to get to a BCS bowl then get demolished in front everyone just to show you should have never been there.

don't blame people for wanting an easier OOC considering how we've looked in any game with a decent team lately.

Ugh hate having 6 threads to go back forth. I am blaming them because that's the CUSA mindset. One cupcake game to get us warmed up and then three to get some recognition. 3 cupcakes does nothing for us other than a easy bowl game invite. Whoppie

That's all most are worried about here if you haven't noticed.

We'd have been better off winning CUSA 2-3 times then getting our Big 12 invite.
('course when you have a coach who's only interested in winning 7 and packing his Crocs and jocks for Waikiki, that's sorta tough.)

Regional. It's where it's at.
You honestly think that the Big 12 would be interested in inviting a team that plays in a conference with Charlotte, FIU, UTSA and UNT? To begin with, the Big 12 is not interested in "retional" anymore. Second, I have a feeling that if we remained in C-USA that UTSA would beat us in attendance by a mile. All things considered I think we are lucky to be in the Big East. If nothing else it has been an impetus for huge improvement in basketball.

You all think much to highly of Boise St. They haven't won an outright conference championship in 3 years. They are not your savior.....
