I would love to see the University of Hawaii job open up after the lousy season the Rainbows are having. That way, the mental midget can return to the islands, and chase volleyball players in his spare time.

I believe they're broke so they can't buy out their current HC (had to buyout the last HC).

I also suspect his new little lackey doesn't have the "hart" to confront him on it, either. Hope I'm wrong, but the signs aren't pretty.
I think everyone understands the situation; however, SMU simply does not have the $$$ to get rid of JJ until his contract is over. The Beast $$$ will not initially solve the problem as the athletic department is losing roughly $10 mil. per season.
My understanding is CoC pledged $10mm for 5 years to rebuild. We gave June a 2 year extension last year through 2014...but I have not heard that money is pledged or that the extension is funded. I wouldn't bet that CoC is an ongoing funding mechanism. Everyone is planning on Big East money...which I have been told is already spent.

So we need $4mm or so to buy him out...which we don't have. He needs $4mm or so to quit...which he doesn't have. Or another program has to want him badly enough to pay us $4mm and pay him additional salary money.

And today nobody is happy with where they sit. I'm pretty sure this is poster child definition of a bad marriage.

I understand what dbone has summarized is correct. We are doomed for two more years. So sad.

Surely a mutual agreement could be reached by both parties to move on. He clearly does not want to be here, and he's not getting any younger if he wants another shot at the NFL.

I'm just a know-nothing guy with a few season tickets and a very small annual donation to the Mustang Club, but I just can't see how either side can endure another year of this.

Parties can modify contracts. If he's as miserable as some here suggest, then he might agree to terms that are "favorable", such as paying him some amount less than the amount he's owed under the contract to go away.

Maybe someone can talk to Jerry Jones and convince him to bring the Great Lei to Valley Ranch.
