Uhhh... is this your first time looking at my posts. I have been extremely critical of our staff. No matter how much money you through into education, it still yields the same lazy tenure faculty not doing their job. Until schools go to performance based contracts like they should do with coaches, they wont see a dime. Especially going to a liberal based agenda in our faculty, yuck. Im not giving them anything for penalizing me for having a different viewpoint.
Nevermind gostangs, I now see what you were referring to.

Alumni11- Life is not an Ayn Rand novel- get over yourself.

What the heck ECM? I never read an Ayn Rand book. Everything that I write on here is based on experience. Yes I will always think tenure is crap, because the hardest working professors are the ones without tenure... I wonder why??

Newsflash- pretty much every major university in the country has liberal leanings and liberal agendas to some extent, unless you go to Pat Robertson's college or BYU. More liberal-minded people go into academia than conservatives, I hate to break this shocking news to you. And just because someone is a flaming liberal doesn't mean they can't teach you a thing or two. Some of my favorite profs at SMU might as well have been Green Party members, but I still enjoyed their classes and learned from them.

Also, the practice of tenure isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I probably agree with most of your political viewpoints, but you need to articulate them rationally.

Well said, but I'm sure for a while you could have thrown in SMU's name in the mix for college conservatism.

Back on topic.

No one wants us.

We had 1989 until around 2009 to become relevant again before money entirely poisoned the college football landscape. We never got it together for one reason or another. Right now we have an extremely limited window to become a school worth picking up by a better conference. It's crunch time.

We miss this window (I'm say a few years at most) we'll be better off dropping to I-AA.

The school won't drop to D1AA. We will dissolve the football program.

Is next year our one shot, perhaps? Assuming the BE is in tact, they'll have a 2013 BCS tie-in. win the conference, go to the Fiesta Bowl, get recognized and scooped up before the last realignment train leaves the station? There's like a 2% chance of that happening, but one can dream

In that case, it's a good thing our coaching staff has built this team for next year. Oh wait, we're losing all of our best players and still don't have a solid answer at QB.

Ok, im not naive as you seem to believe. Im saying Im not giving money to any university for that exact reason. I know that liberals own government and education sector, and its very smart play for long-term success. Again I already knew that, so its not that SHOCKING. I have yet to learn from anyone who peanlizes people for having a different viewpoint. The only liberals who have been fair are my friends, but yet have had a chance to meet a professor with the typical ultra liberal qualities and learn anything from them. Fortunately, most of my classes were at the business school which is dominated mainly by moderates and quiet conservatives. There I actually learned alot since they encourage discussion amongst peers. I'm just saying from my personal experience. Im glad ECM you had a different experience, and hopefully the rest on this board. It might give me a little faith in our academics. However, I have yet to see anything that has been able to overturn my cyncial mind and overall skepticism of the entire structure of higher education. I feel it is corrupted and has been overruned by hardcore liberals that wish to be an extension of the liberal agenda. Again, nothing new, its been this way for awhile, but thats why Im not going to give them a hard earn dollar till I see real change. It can still be liberal but it has to be a truly free thinking institution. (sorry I had to post. Last time ECM can write whatever he wants)
