How to get Mahalo Boy to walk. Hire who we want as a new HC, and put Puka Beads in a closet office, answerable to the new HC. His only responsibilities will be to recruit. He'll say "Aloha", in a New York minute.

4 straight bowl games guys......we were one of the worst teams in the country before JJ got here....yes, the ASU thing was a disaster and very classless....most schools would have fired him.....he gets a free pass due to all the great things he has done here.....despite the disaapointments of this season we are still going to a bowl game.....agree that recruiting sucks though.....need to hire a few young assistants that will aggressively recruit Texas....also, not sure the money will be avaialble to pay for an upgrade over June.....not a good sign Orsini was fired for pushing policies to make us nationally competitive....where is the indoor practice facility the school keeps saying is gonig to be built....

I agree, but wasn't Orsini fired for his unwillingness to hire Larry Brown?

that money is going to be spent for a new golf/equestrian course. Mediocrity doesn't need IPFs

Saw that story in the DMN Friday. A lot of money apparently justified by tutoring about 100 inner city kids? Seems like a misallocation given other needs, though I guess the golf program has performed well.

Different money. AT&T and Dallas are paying for a lot of that golf course.

Lefty - no so sure about that. The article stated that the city would contribute a max of 12 mil. It also said ATT was putting in about 2.5mil for something else. I don't recall the article stating how much ATT was putting into the golf course just that they were agreeing to be the Byron Nelson sponsor when the HP agmt expired. The difference between the city and 50 mil leaves 38 mil to be covered.
I love golf and am glad for the SMU golf team but also wonder what happened to the relationship with the DACCC and the Payne Stewart center.
IMO I just think some of that money could be better spent on facilities on the campus.

Maybe we're going old school..........more like the Bear Bryant days at A&M where you practice no matter what the weather is.

There are a lot of us who think JJ should stay and a lot who think JJ should go. Fine. Different opinions from different people.

But the fact is that the school can't fire the guy who took SMU to four straight bowls. Whether he should keep his job or not is meaningless. If the school fired JJ, no other coach would touch this job.

If he leaves, it's going to be because HE chooses to leave, which few, if any of us, see happening.

Therefore ... Go Mustangs! Beat Fresno State!

Hopefully we can add Hawaii to our schedule to add another easy win!
