Re: Official SIGNING DAY Thread
there are plenty of players who might be late qualifiers and even more Division 1A Transfers that might want to return home to Dallas. I'd save any availiable scholarships for the invitable BCS transfer. Actually, I think they might want to take QB because I'm not very high on the guys we have at QB.

Re: Official SIGNING DAY Thread
Stars, points, ranking, bla, bla, bla etc...... THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THE SCHOOLS THE PLAYER HAS OFFERS FROM. SMU HAS 4 RECRUITS TOTAL WITH A REAL AQ OFFER. Unfortunetly, one of them is West Virginia and another is Texas Tech. Phil Bennett did way better than this......

Ask yourself this question: how many stars did Margus Hunt have coming out of high school?
This is not to excuse a sub-par recruiting class..it's just to say that we shouldn't jump off a bridge over it...yet.
Margus Hunt is all you got? Want me to list all the spares that went belly-up? I promise it's more than 1.

Fortunately the work has been posted on this board several times before.

Re: Official SIGNING DAY Thread
The diamond in the rough thing is why I wanted to show where these guys ranked on our current roster of recruits. Even taking into account the players we develop from nowhere, a lot of these kids are simply less highly regarded than players we have recruited over the last 3 years.
And Stallion, I almost asked that question tonight - I wonder if a lot of schools like SMU will actually always only sign 23 or 24 players so that they can pick up a couple of great studs that qualify late. the coaches indicated tonight that the 25th scholarship will end up being used at some point before the fall.

I think most coaches want to keep a schollie on deposit, just in case there is a late qualifier, transfer or walk-on who earned a scholarship. Heck, I'd prefer to use them on those kids than another 2 star.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

And with jj being a 'lame duck' next year the 2014 class will likely be even worse. Let's hope the admin/C of C finally wakes up and makes the necessary change at the end of next season or we will be the laughing stock of cusa 3.0.

What position do you guys think we are weakest at and need a BCS transfer?
