We will lose all 4 non conf games. We have 0 shot of cracking top 25 even if we went undefeated in BE

If we went undefeated, we would crack top 25, but that is a only dream this year

I believe my buddy Calallen called it "prediction of the century if that were to come true." It came true as we went 5-2 to end the season.
we beat two teams at home that finished 5-7 and 4-8. We beat a team that was 0-12, a team that had zero to play for, and then had a good showing in our Super Bowl against a team that didn't seem to care all that much.
Yea. Real magical way to close out the season.

If we went undefeated in the BE, we would go to a BCS bowl. Imagine THAT

Who said it was a magical way to close out the season?
Also, why do people keep saying Tulsa had nothing to play for? If they beat us they would have ended the season ranked. That is motivation for a college team. If SMU had been in their situation (we can only dream) people would not be saying it was not a big deal that SMU lost because SMU had nothing to play for.

But, what if, for some crazy reason, we won 1 or maybe 2 of those 4 games? Wouldn't that make for a great season? Not saying we will. Obviously we will be the underdogs. But, what if... Isn't that what makes football GREAT! EVEN if we play close games and look good, we have a chance to make everyone take a look at SMU. However, a win over TCU or Tech or Baylor or (cant remember who the other one is) WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!

If anyone had seen Tulsa play during the season, the team that played SMU was not the same Tulsa team. I'm not taking anything away from SMU, they had to win that game and took care of business. I just wish the game had not ended on the SMU one yard line, my heart can't take to many more of those!

I still think it's unrealistic to think we won't win any OOC games. In fact, I don't think it's outlandish to think we will win all four.
Tech - First game of the season, new coaching staff, plus Tech isn't that good anyway. This is definitely our best chance at an OOC win and with the game at Ford I think it is likely.
Baylor - Yes, they obviously showed last season they have a good size and speed advantage on us, but they will be on their third QB in three seasons, our team knows what to expect and will be able to scheme for the speed better (Mason), and with the game at Ford we have a shot.
A&M - This year was a flash in the pan year for them, and next year should be the year to get them becasue they will certainly be cocky. Obviously, winning at Kyle Field is a tall order, but don't forget we had them 0-0 well into the second quarter this year and that was before our offense turned into the dominant offense we saw later in the season. This is the kind of win that would put SMU on the map!
TCU - this one is always close. We won over there two years ago and had every chance in the world to beat them this year. It's also not unrealistic to expect the possiblity of some unrest in their team next season with the QB issues.
I think 1-3 is the most likely outcome (win over Tech), but 2-2 is very possible with TCU being a toss up and it's not ridiculous to consider SMU going 4-0 if things go our way.

I think we are VERY likely to go 0-4 but agree Tech ain't that great, A&M takes significant step back, Baylor doesn't have a QB this year (unlike I predicted they would last year in Florence). TCU is the program that will be much improved over last year (and last year I said they would struggle even when they were No. 18 on the Country)

It's not sad to dream big. What's truly sad are those who are so jaded as not to even allow oneself to enjoy a little preseason hope and fun.
