Either way, I smell a fish.
McMurphy is as accurate as anyone, particularly has great contacts with the Big East historically.

That said the underreported angle of this is that the Big East has a ton of exit fee money coming it's way that should ensure SMU, UH, UCF, etc don't bleed cash via exit fees to CUSA.

The only contact in the Big East that McBS had was Meatball, and he is gone.

This is self-serving Espin crapola at its best.

Give me the details please Espin. If you know so much, is this Tier 1 only? Is this BB and FB or BB only? Why do people believe this crap, just because it is on the internet?? I'd rather not get my supposed news from a source that has a vested interest in lowball numbers.

Use your brains.

If we beat a top 5 team, it would be talked about on ponyfans for the next 10 years.

Their bball is doing ok...
Your kidding right? They are 1-9 in Big 12 and behind OU 24-8 as I post. They are not good in bball.

Regardless of basketball or football, TV sets = $. Not a crazy concept. Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's, DePaul etc garner more local attention than SMU football does. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Things are improving but this tv contract should not be a surprise to anyone. And any future big east additions should be based on TV sets and not location or football-only results. Look big picture = UMass.

TCU basketball is garbage. Can't believe this is being discussed. The Kansas game cannot be explained. More enigmatic than Pandora's box.

It is just goofy that TCU and SMU are going in drastically different directions - to a point where I don't think we will ever catch up to where they are right now - and our explanation is, well, their bball isn't doing that great.

And your response was to point out one game on their schedule as an indication of their program. He'll we beat TCU in football two years ago does that mean anything in the grand scheme of things - no. So don't try to pawn off 1 win as meaning anything especially when we beat them over there when we played em. Should we be top 5 then.

I know what you are saying but don't give em credit where credit is not due to make your point. And that being said, We are a lot closer in bball to being relevant than they are. It may not matter but It is a fact.

It dang sure matters to me, but others seem to want to ignore what is going on with our basketball program for some reason. We aren't real good now, but next year will be a lot of fun. Good team, good schedule, good coach, new gym, and fans are slowly returning. That is a recipe for success.

Agree!. It's looking like basketball could be the sport that carries SMU back into the national spotlight. The transfer guys that are sitting out this year and the recruits coming in next year, this team is going to fun to watch in the years to come.

Update. TCU scored 11 first half points against OU and go on to lose 75-48. Nice way to follow up on that win over a top 5 team.

You think they are happy being 1-10 in conference. Yeah doing alright in bball.

No I just wanted to follow up since you believe their basketball team is doing fine. Being uninformed doesn't really help your argument.

Basically your position is TCU is great SMU sucks. While i am a SMU supporter, I still try to make judgements based on reality - not hyperbole.

BTW, you can easily be one of their fans if you think they have it so good. No one is stopping you.
