Baylor will be replaced with another home game. Possibly 1-AA team or whatever it's called now!

Win or lose I like the fact we are playing you guys. Hopefully some other series goes away. Why would you keep UNT instead of Baylor? We travel better, get better tv interest, and are actually a rivalry.

Re: I Want A Piece 'O Baylor
I called my contact about the Baylor game and questioned him why SMU would drop a home game will probably be a sell out. I did not hear him right when he was explaining to me SMU's future scheduling philosophy. According to him, the OOC games are pretty much set for this year but next year SMU would prefer to keep Baylor and TCU and drop A&M. SMU wants to keep Baylor and TCU on future schedules but easier games for other two OOC games. My apologies for the confusion

We are scheduled to open Baylor's new stadium in 2014

I love how we are upset about not being in the B12 but we want to tip-toe into our first BCS schedule. Our program needs to grow some.

good idea since official SMU stats say we drew 30,024 in Honolulu for Hawaii Bowl. The Hawaiians love us-(but unfortunately are little tiny people that don't show up on TV screen)
a possible early entry for Post Of The Year.

A football coaching staff that doesn't want to start the year out 0 - 4. Baylor doesn't want to play the game either as they gain no props with a win and would find a loss very embarrasing.

Exactly. If we were still in CUSA, 4 tough NC games might make a little bit of sense if our program was at the level of Houston's two years ago. Right now, going into the Big East with a 7-6 team, it makes no sense to have a difficult non-conference schedule. We need to actually win 10 games against cream puffs before we play the big boys. That is how TCU and Boise both got good.
We will get out of one of the games. it won't be TCU, and we won't skip the payday of A&M, so it has to be Baylor or tech.

So exactly what have we been doing for the past 5 years as far as preparation for progress?

My contact at SMU tells me that they are trying to get out of the ATM game but that ATM is being very difficult about it.

that's because the SEC likes to have some cupcakes on their schedule and that's what we are for A$M
