if you are referring to the old ATO that is now the service house - it was built around 1980. not our best effort.
and as for room for the beggars - thank goodness we have some good ones, since our entire future, sports and otherwise rests on their shoulders. If anyone deserves a nice place to work its them.

The original 'new' ATO house was built in about 1958. After it burned down another one was constructed. I believe it was in the late 60's or early 70's- not in the 80's.

Pretty sure it was Beta. They hate their house.

The ATO House burned down a few weeks after winter rush ended in January or early February 1978-I was a freshman and ATO room-mate was a freshman and we were good friends of the ATO pledge who died in the fire. Both played on soccer team with my twin brother

IIRC the fire happened sometime during the night after the end of a party. The party had used a lot hay bales inside the house on the first floor of the house.

If you mean the Beta house, at 3058 Yale Blvd.; it had only a partial basement under the kitchen/house mother's apt., on the west end of the house.
It basically had a boiler, which sat in a pit. Room measured approx. 15 x 40.

The Beta House fire was a huge campus event. The IM field was packed. It ended up being a big party. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
The Kappa Sig house has a basement under the main part of the house.
