Anybody else want to side with the enemy in disrespecting their own school?
There's nothing treasonous about pointing out errors and hoping for improvements.ponyboy wrote:Anybody else want to side with the enemy in disrespecting their own school?

Rah Rah......everything is great in the athletic department.....top 25 in all we do........competing at the highest level.........ponyboy wrote:Oh, my mistake. It's ok to throw your school under the bus if it's a friend.
so, by your rational, are you throwing America under the bus if you say we spend too much money and we'rein debt $17 trillion? Of course not, right? RIGHT? The only way things change is whenyou point out flaws.ponyboy wrote:Oh, my mistake. It's ok to throw your school under the bus if it's a friend.
I agree it is perfectly ok to criticize the execution of the event and it is not throwing SMU under the bus.blackoutpony wrote:so, by your rational, are you throwing America under the bus if you say we spend too much money and we'rein debt $17 trillion? Don't you old f*cks always complain that no one who currently goes to SMU care about our football team? How the hell do you expect the students to come and watch and get excited about the football team if youre doing a joke of a apring game at 9 n the morning at a practice field? There's nothing going on sports wse at SMU right now, its a huge missed opportunity. If Turner didn't hate the greeks so much, you could get a bunch of the frats to come out and make it fun, like, oh I don't know, any big time university. Create a buzz going into summer.
He's making a perfectly good point.
Please - dont take everything literal. Geez. We all get frustrated over these simple little things that happen over and over at our school. Its not that difficult.ponyboy wrote:"For twenty years SMU has never done anything right" is not an argument or a valid point. A valid point is this: It *seems* as if SMU is not approaching this spring game thing appropriately.
I never complained about the students' lack of interest. Ever. You need to show more respect, son.
Hmmmm... How can we make all the children who get dragged along resent their parents and SMU football... Oh I know, start the thing at 9AM.austinponie wrote:Sounds like it's a "family friendly" exercise, which I have no problem with.
They should just add another day for "Spring Game"( which I know June doesn't like) that includes frats, beer, cookouts, game in Ford Stadium, etc...
These, combined with Pro Day, and spring football could be downright festive...
Wonder if Deion will be there.
Hmmm...just saw "pictures with Peruna and Cheerleaders"...hmmm...
I don't know, 20 years of results...ponyboy wrote:"For twenty years SMU has never done anything right" is not an argument or a valid point. A valid point is this: It *seems* as if SMU is not approaching this spring game thing appropriately.

Pretty cool for the kids to get autographs from the NFL guys.
Looks like it's from 9-12pm

Put down the bottle. Was hiring June Jones and reversing a decades long trend of utter ineptitude not right? Were four bowl games in a row right? How about building Ford Stadium and Crum, renovating Moody, hiring Larry Brown? How do you like the Boulevard? The list goes on and on, and to suggest otherwise is stupid.couch 'em wrote:I don't know, 20 years of results...ponyboy wrote:"For twenty years SMU has never done anything right" is not an argument or a valid point.
