Nice racist undertones there. Your mother must be proud. (Unless she's the one who taught that garbage mindset to you.)

His comment is only racist if you make a racist assumption about the people who work at 7 Eleven. Generally your comments add something to the discussion here, but you might want to slowly back away from that one.

Please highlight racism with bold. Otherwise get back to your coloring books.

Really, nothing wrong with starting at 7-11. You are competing with mostly uneducated and/or unmotivated competition, whereas you face much tougher competition in the professional world. A store manager at a place like Target or Home Depot pulls north of $100k, not bad at all.

I just dont get how the regular Joe does not want to come to SMU games. The fans are so accepting to people of all walks of life. The 7-11 comments are so weak, please come up with something different. It is a great possibility that some of our players family works at a 7-11 or some type of gas station.

I agree. It is incredibly disappointing to read the snobby condescending posts about things like this.

7-11 is a sweet place. When I don't want to pay ATM fees, am thirsty, and need some cash I can get cash back on any debit purchase. Gettin' that Big Gulp!

Though I am not racist I will concede that I am a jerk.
See you next time.

Two different subjects altogether. The 7-11 reference to Houston goes way back to my day and some comments (perhaps a little racist in nature) that were publicly made. It has carried forward (non racist in manner) as a running joke. Snobbish, perhaps, but it is merely fun smack talk very similar to the Safeway parking lot game talk with NTSU.

Now beyond that, I will admit that SMU does tend to put forth a snobbish attitude on occasions. But let's not step on smack tradition for the sake of showing our humble side.

I'm sorry. I went against the rest of ponyfans which has been nothing but glowing reviews of our programs and staff.
