I'm not really concerned that a Pac-12 team is contacting one of our guys. Frankly, I wish it would happen more often. This is where we need to pitch our location and opportunities in the DFW region AFTER football...do you really want to spend four years in Salt Lake City over Dallas? How many Utah alums are living in the Dallas area that might be hiring when you're done with school? Do you want to get on a plane and fly to freaking Utah every couple months or just drive 30 minutes home?

These are the recruiting battles we should want, and that we should be able to win sometimes.

Thanks Rebel - I think I am just having a rough day. Apologies. Ignore me on this thread plz! A 5 month old at home while getting little sleep and working = losing my mind.

Only problem is ECM, all these kids aren't thinking about life after football, they're thinking about how to make it to the NFL and what will give them the best shot at it. A school in a bastardized conference or a Pac-12 school with much better exposure and a higher level of play? Granted it is Utah (one of the ugly step children of the pac 12), but still
That being said, I hope our staff fights for this kid, I think he would be awesome here, but I'm not getting my hopes up

Our TV contract starting next year puts us on TV every week according Coach Jones. TCU made a living at getting kids from the BCS bottom feeders during the Fran era. We can do the same imo.

Rebel nails it. We need to pitch location, increased exposure with the new AAC TV deal, JJ's history of putting guys in the NFL, and location again. We should be able to compete with Utah for recruits in the DFW area. Utah would be a terrible place to spend four years of college.

Some people think extra wives is a good thing. I've had 2 at separate times and that has been more than I can handle.

Now all we need are some coaches that can actually pitch that to legit recruits.

Agree Rebel. We don't need to get all 4 and 5 star recruits, but there is a huge amount of room for improvement between 4/5 stars, and what we have now, which is not unreasonable to expect

yeah I wish people would understand that we really don't need 4/5 stars to make a huge improvement-although a couple every year would be nice

Forget 4/5 stars, I would settle for a majority of the class having quality BCS offers.

Yea exactly. Like I said, a lot of room for improvement between here and 4/5 stars

Some high 3 stars with bottom feeder BCS offers would be good. And then throw on a 4 star or 2 for good measure. If USF can do it so can we. Go SMU.
