They aren't ranking the concession stand or men's public restrooms. It's college football.

They were ranking the stadiums. Period. Not game day atmosphere.

By your own admission, they are spending $450m to make the stadium commensurate with the "experience".
Im going to go ahead and disagree with you as BR specifically mentioned the atmosphere in the blurb regarding #16. My point is that the only reason Kyle is ranked highly is due to what happens within the confines, not the structure itself. So yes, we are agreeing that it needs a massive upgrade.

What's up with the bitter crowd here?

Ford is so massively overrated on here. Do you all sit in the suites? elsewhere it is just a basic stadium. Basic bleacher seats, basic bathrooms and concessions. Lots of less desirable but not bad endzone and corner seats. Could have been built in 1955 really. Nothing special, just relatively new. Much better than pre-renovation Cotton Bowl burr is that saying much?

Couchem is right. Aluminum bleacher stadium (like UCF) w a nice brick facade. Better than Ownby though

Yeah but you never have to wait in line at the concessions or the bathrooms.

Mentioning in a blurb is a bonus comment re Kyle, but it's not a criterion.

The ranking was about stadiums. Not game day experiences. Since you are citing aggieland as a great game day experience, and no doubt the student involvement is tremendous, please let us know how many different stadiums you have visited for comparison purposes, because I suspect it's about 3-4...

For me:
UT, BU, SMU (Tx Stadium, Ownby, Cotton, Ford), TCU (pre-post), OU, OSU, TT, Kyle (pre-The ZONE w/ Horseshoe, Post-TZ)

LSU, UF, TENN (SEC)

NWestern , Rutgers (B10)

UHawaii (Smu at UH)

UWash (2x by boat), ASU 3x (P10)

Bowls: Weedeater, Mobile, Cotton (KSU v BYU; aTm v Tenn; others; TX-OUs), Cowboys (OU v BYU; TCUvOregState)

and Visited: ND, UCol, Rose, Rice, Tulsa (pre-upgrade)

AS STADIUMS go, Kyle Field sucks. Pre-game, Kyle Field sucks. I've been to more aggie games than you ever did.

Amon Carter sucked. Amon Carter is probably Top5 of the nicest around now.

Lol. GRGB maybe you should publish your own list? It seems we've established that physically Kyle is lacking in almost every way, so I'm not sure how Kyle makes the cut if it isnt the game day atmosphere?

BTW, since you've been to more games at Kyle than I ever "did", I'd love to know why you keep going back if everything about it sucks?

MaroonPony aka Grasshopper:

1. Your question pre-supposess that I learned of better venues BEFORE I "kept" attending aTm games.

2. To answer your question, it's the only game in town.

3. I'm not sure why Kyle makes the cut on this list, it's stadium sucks. Perhaps Bleacher Report likes school theme songs that aren't "pro" the school, but "anti" another school. [Are they still going to be anti-UT in the SEC?] Perhaps because Bleacher Report is a [deleted] website. Perhaps because they conflate the intended criterion of their lists.

4. You never answered the question, Grasshopper. How many other venues have you attended? My count is at least 25 venues.

5. Let's review THEIR criteria for the list:

Not all college football teams are created equal. And for that matter, neither are all college football stadiums.

While there are some very nice stadiums across the country that are home to non-BCS schools, the best of the bunch belong to those teams from BCS conferences.

When it comes to the best of the best, the SEC and Big Ten reign supreme.

But just who is at the top of the list?

Here is a ranking of all BCS college football stadiums, from No. 74 all the way to the top.

Let the debate begin.

*Notre Dame and BYU are included with the BCS teams.

NOTE: BYU is not a bcs team

Seems to me this was a list of the "best" stadiums. It's such a great list that it 1) included a picture of Amon Carter 5 years ago, 2) included Kyle Field.

So is it safe to assume that the BR list sucks?

I think this thread should have remained a discussion about Ford Stadium getting a ranked on Bleacher report as a positive and then segued into how we can make the stadium/game day experience better. Who cares about the Aggie's stadium or anyone else's for that matter.

You sir, have figured out the entire reason I even posted this. Thank you

The list is flawed. See aTm #14. See TCU Amon Carter picture circa 1985. Not one piece of concrete is the same now.

we can all agree that Legion Field in B'ham is possibly the worst stadium in history.

Next question!
