So basically what we have concluded is that nobody really knows what either team will look like. Tech has new coaches and is replacing a bunch of players. We have a few new coaches and are replacing a bunch of players. We have an idea what Tech will do, and Tech has an idea what we'll do. This could go either way, and it could get lopsided in either direction. I hate to admit Stallion's right, but in this case, he is - Tech is bigger and faster and more athletic than we are, and should be favored. Personally, I believe in our team, though. I think we keep it tight until the end and have a chance to knock them off. I wouldn't predict the upset, but we can.

Recruiting services mean nothing. Talent evaluation by people actually fielding teams on whose performance those people rely is what matters. Rivals and Scout are a joke, proven by the NFL.
But that is all beside the point. This is, contrary to what the Chinese say, the year of the Pony.

Actually the NFL has proven the opposite, 4 and 5 star players hit with far more regularity than lower star players despite accounting for a minuscule percentage of the overall talent pool.

Stats can show anything you like, 50% or so of players in the nfl were 3 stars or fewer out if HS.

And tell that to the 17 mustangs on NFL rosters right now.

And the other half comes from the higher star players which make up a much smaller portion of any given recruiting class. The NFL proves that stars do matter.

Actually the high draft picks are usually 4 and 5 star players. There are not that many 4 or 5 star players so the NFL has to have the 3 star a fewer players to fill out the roster.

We may have to disagree on this. Toy mind the failure of nearly 1/2 the "top prospects" to make it to the NFL shows that the recruiting rankings are a joke. Anyone can see a kid who "looks like the real deal". A good coach sees a kid who can be successful.

By that thinking the NFL would contain almost all the 5 star recruits and then fill out the numbers. I could buy that but nearly 50% of five star players never make the NFL

Their are only a few players rated 5 star each year. Failure rate of 2 star players is much higher because there are hundreds if not thousands of them.
